description
Andy Emler, Claude Tchamitchian and Eric Echampard: three musicians whose individual careers put them firmly amongst the most respected French – if not European – musicians on the scene. A truly interactive trio where the music is created and played together, this group represents the crossing point of a rich variety of musical genres: a contemporary chamber player, minimalist, the energy of rock and the liberty of jazz impro- visation work together to give a fully accomplished, mature music in pieces arranged with remarkable finesse and organisation of timbre. A unique sound, with its own inventive dynamics, served by three accomplished and highly unusual musicians, ETE (for their closest circle... and others) trace their own path, opening up new horizons and an original approach to the piano/ bass/ drums trio so common in the jazz world.
This trio, acclaimed by press and public alike in France and abroad, with many tours to their name in the Baltic countries, and concerts in Germany and England... celebrates its 10th birthday this year, hence this new album. Three albums in 10 years exist as confirmation of a carefully thought out musical investment in response to a vital artistic necessity on the part of this trio ; and they are still venturing out onto territory where their music can unfurl with no holds barred: musicians’ music for anyone whose ears are open to it...
